Does RetroActiveSync work with localized (non-english) Outlook versions ?

Yes, RetroActiveSync should work with non-english versions of Outlook. However, we could not test every possibility, so we encourage you to use the Trial version fully and check if it works correctly with your specific Outlook version.

Can I use RetroActive alone (without Outlook or Blogger) ?

Yes! RetroActive is itself a complete journaling application.

Does RetroActive have a Desktop version?

Instead of building a proprietary desktop solution from scratch, we decided to use Outlook Journal as a desktop companion for RetroActive. This gives you many advantages:

• You already have it installed and ready for use;
• If you already use it for journaling, you don't have to migrate your entries or learn how to use another software;
• You can use all the features found in Outlook, like automatic journaling, archiving, filters, import/export facilities etc;
• You have the flexibility to easily export your entries to any compatible solution later, if you decide so;
• If your company also uses Outlook, you just need to install RetroActiveSync to use RetroActive there.

Do I need to set up a partnership with a PC to use RetroActiveSync ?

ActiveSync must be installed on the PC for RetroActiveSync to work, but you don't need to set up a full partnership with it (a "Guest" connection is enough).

When I try to install RetroActive on my device, I get the message: "RetroActive.exe requires newer version of the .NET Compact Framework than version on device". What's wrong?

RetroActive requires Microsoft .NET Compact Framework version 2.0. If it is not installed in your device yet, you can get it here. Note that Windows Mobile 6 devices already have .NET Compact Framework 2 pre-installed in ROM.
